A Palm Bay-based 9-ball team -- Sink 'em N Drink 'em -- finished ninth out of 381 entrants in the recent 2009
American Poolplayers Association Nationals in Las Vegas.

The APA is the world's largest amateur pool league, and it hosted teams from the United States, Canada and
Japan.

The team, which made its first appearance in the national tournament, was comprised of Tim Kenefick, captain,
of Melbourne Beach, Wayne Allewelt, Russ Adams, Liz Fisher, Karen Mirley, and Mark Randlov of Palm Bay,
and Chris Knott of Melbourne. Kenefick said Chad "Shorty" McDaniel of Viera, who is in a wheelchair, is the
team's "secret weapon."

The team plays competitively in the Brevard County League operated by Lynn and Brian Lawrence. Its home
tables are at Poolies Billiards in Palm Bay.

Individual members typically practice twice a week.
